Can CamHandy record while my car is parked?
Yes, CamHandy offers parking mode recording when properly hardwired to your vehicle’s electrical system using the included hardwiring kit. In parking mode, the device enters a low-power state that activates full recording only when the G-sensor detects impact or motion is detected near the vehicle. The built-in voltage protection automatically disables recording if your car battery drops below a preset threshold (adjustable in settings from 11.6V-12.2V) to prevent dead batteries. Parking mode can typically record for 24-48 hours on a healthy vehicle battery, or indefinitely when paired with the optional CamHandy solar accessory.
How long does the included memory card record before overwriting?
The standard 64GB microSD card included with CamHandy can store approximately 8 hours of 4K footage, 12 hours of 1440p footage, or 24 hours of 1080p footage before beginning to overwrite the oldest files. CamHandy uses loop recording technology that automatically replaces oldest files with new recordings unless they’ve been protected via G-sensor activation (accidents, hard braking) or manual protection (button press or in-app selection). Event-protected recordings are stored in a separate folder that doesn’t get overwritten until manually cleared or storage capacity reaches critical levels. For extended storage needs, CamHandy supports microSD cards up to 256GB.
